| During
2006 we will begin programs for individuals lacking
technology skills by providing hands-on tutoring in
Microsoft Office Software Applications and Introduction
to Computers; which will prepare participants for the
Microsoft Office Specialist Certification and Internet
and Computing Core (IC3) exams We will coordinate financial
literacy workshops to enhance the money skills of residents
and help them to create positive banking relationships.
We will host family enrichment workshops and other events
to provide families with the necessary resources and
skills to build a stronger unit.
Having
Options & Providing Education (H.O.P.E.) will work
with our strategic alliances to develop programs and
projects to enhance our communities. Our “Train the
Trainer” workshop will provide organizations interested
in teaching financial literacy with the curriculum,
skills, and technical assistance needed to launch their
programs.
H.O.P.E. will work to improve our communities by developing,
nurturing, and cultivating the gifts and talents of
residents in Wards 7 & 8. East of the River will
no longer be a phrase identified with poor statistics
but will be known for its rich history, beautiful landscape,
and wonderful residents.
